In a worst case scenario, I'd just create a shortcut or Alias to the shared folder in another location on my computer. Is this how it's supposed to work? It's not a huge deal if it's supposed to be this way - I just like having structure in my files and would rather not have a bunch of stuff on the top level if I can help it. I have to rejoin the original shared folder through the link that was shared to me. It's like the shared folder is copied to a new location and the original shared folder is deleted from my Onedrive. All the files at the time of the move are there, but new folders from other users don't appear and ones I place there don't upload for anyone else. If I move a shared folder from Onedrive to something like Onedrive / Test Folder, the sharing breaks. It seems like all shared folders must live in the top Onedrive folder. I can still collaborate with other users on that shared folder. If I move that folder to a different folder in my iCloud Drive it's like nothing changed other than where the folder sits on my computer.
